What is RC Bro?

RC Bro is remote-control car club for the greater Albany Georgia area. Our goal is to help build an active and engaging community around the exciting RC car hobby. At the same time we are endeavoring to create environments for discovery, technical skills development, and entrepreneurial collaboration among the youth, and be a vehicle for improving and strengthening father-son relationships.

RC Bro was created to bring fathers and sons together to not only have fun, but to engage in self-discovery, building self-confidence, and help to create a positive and productive future. Even though the focus is on fathers and sons, women and girls are encouraged to join and participate.

It’s hard to find a male who doesn’t like cars. And if we had the opportunity, many of us would have a collection of cars. Most of us can’t do this with real cars, however we can do this with the next best thing, which is the remote-control scale model car. Just like car clubs for real, full-size cars that meet, drive, race, swap, and socialize, we do the same thing with the RC cars. The RC cars, on the other hand, are more affordable and does not require a garage to store your collection in. And like their real counterparts, RC cars are just plain cool!

Just like their full-size counterparts, RC cars excite an interest that spans across generations. From the three-year-old pushing his toy race car on the floor, to the sixteen-year-old who just got their driver’s license and their first speeding ticket, to the thirty-something with the big shiny rims, to the grand-father who enjoys polishing his truck on weekends, we are fascinated with cars. This fascination presents an untapped opportunity for both the fathers and the sons. Just like in other clubs, the members bring their knowledge, experience, skills and creativity to the group, creating a drinking well of growth that is available for fathers as well as the youth. Both fathers and sons make friends and build relationships on the basis of their interest in the hobby. This creates an environment for fathers to discuss, strategize, and share their common interest and plans for their sons’ future and developmental success. Simultaneously, the sons are in engaged in constructive activities with their peers where creativity and problem solving are the basis of the fun. RC Bro is that kind of club, and possibly that kind of movement.
