RC cars, simply put, are just plain EXCITING! They are universally appealing to men and boys and women and girls, (but mostly men) of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities. Why? Maybe because they are so realistic. Or so fast. Or they represent the real cars we always wanted. Or just so outrageously fun! And now, they’re more affordable and accessible.

The wireless remote-control car is the latest incarnation of electric toy/hobby/craft for youth. Before RC cars there were the electric slot cars. Before that was the electric train sets. Even though these hobbies are in fact separated by generations of time, they have had the same appeal in regards to fascination of controlling motion, speed, and electricity and modeling their real-world counterparts.

Another thing these hobbies have in common is that they are a hands-on and DIY (do-it yourself) based activity. In today’s world, young men are doing less themselves than they did in previous generations. Having DIY skills promote confidence and curiosity.
